How to use the seating chart maker
- Paste your students' names, one per line, and choose the number of columns.
- Arrange or shuffle the names. Click two seats to swap them, or drag between seats.
- Download a PNG or print your chart. Choose Save as PDF in the print dialog for a digital copy.
Questions teachers ask
Can I leave seats empty?
Yes. Add empty seats and move them just like student seats. Use them for aisles, spare desks, or a little extra space between students.
Can I save my seating chart?
Choose Save on this device to keep a copy in this browser. Save again after changes. It does not sync between devices, and clearing browser data removes it.
Does it work without dragging?
Yes. Click or keyboard-select one seat, then another to swap them. You can move students on a phone or tablet this way too.
Class lists and worksheet text are processed in your browser. Nothing you enter here is sent to SketchNote. Saving is optional and uses this device's browser storage. We measure page visits and product-link clicks, but do not record sessions or send your tool input to analytics.
